"I appreciate life a lot so I was shocked to hear the news I was HIV+. I worried about my mother and how she would feel about it. I accept my illness and try to live with it in the best way I can. Information is so important in fighting this disease. I am working on prevention, particularly on the radio with public service announcements. I want people to know how important it is to use protection in their sexual lives. And I want people to know, especially, that the disease is AIDS, the disease is not the person."
